Things to Do

Guests of the Bunkhouse at Doyle Creek Ranch or the Loft at Doyle Creek Mercantile will be delighted with the vast variety of activities to do and sights to see.

The ranch is a working commercial black angus ranch, and throughout the day you'll see cattlemen and women going about their daily activities-herding, branding, moving feed, maintaining equipment, repairing fences, and so on.

The native bluestem grasses of the Flint Hills are awe inspiring, rolling in the winds like a mighty ocean.

You'll also discover an abundance of wildlife, including deer, turkey, quail, and the sometimes humerous prairie chicken, whose courting ritual dance is a favorite with naturalists.

Nature walks are always an adventure, and give us a little time and we'll round up a bicycle for you if you didn't bring your own.
